Murray and Féy are from Nelson. In 1996 after both completed a Bachelor of ministries at Bible College of New Zealand, they and their four children, spent six years as ‘Church Planters’ in Albania with the European Christian Mission (ECM).
During that time, they planted a church, established an English School, and were involved as emergency aid workers during the Kosovo/Serbia war. They returned to New Zealand at the end of 2002 because of the needs of their teenage children, and for seven years Murray worked as an associate priest at All Saints’, Nelson, and Féy worked in Administration and completed a Master in Theology.
On their return to Albania in 2011, Murray and Féy were seconded to ECM and were based in Lushnje, where they improved their Albanian language and served the local church using their gifts of evangelism, discipleship and teaching. They also ran marriage courses and Féy was involved in administration.
Since 2013 Murray and Féy have been based in the capital city, Tirana. Murray’s focus is supporting a church planting initiative in Tirana, through mentoring young church leaders, and discipling disciples so that they can make disciples. Murray also preaches at St. Mic’s via SKYPE a couple of times a year.
Féy works alongside Murray as time enables, and together they lead the ECM Albania/Kosovo field. Féy is also involved in the International Leadership of ECM and as a result is travelling regularly.
St. Michael’s supports the Cotters through prayer and giving from individuals to their sending society, NZCMS.
